Holiday Spending and Financing Decisions in the 2015 Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking
Abstract: One of the recurring themes in the Federal Reserve Board's Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking (SHED) is a lack of savings capacity for many individuals. This was manifested in the 2015 survey by the nearly half of respondents who would borrow or sell something to cover a $400 emergency expense (Federal Reserve Board, 2016).
