Perspectives on the Economy and Policy


Abstract: Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President & CEO Susan M. Collins provided remarks and participated in a conversation about monetary policy, the breadth of the Federal Reserve's work, and her career path, at the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. In her remarks, Collins said she sees the economy “in a good place overall, with inflation heading back to the 2 percent target amid a healthy labor market.” The primary job for monetary policy in this context is sustaining these favorable conditions going forward.
