Some fiscal advice for the new government: don't let the sun go down on BEA


Abstract: A contention that the federal government's deficit reduction efforts would be greatly aided by extending the Budget Enforcement Act of 1990 through 1996, maintaining distinctions among different categories of discretionary spending, and introducing caps on mandatory expenditures.
